Technically I have not been inside the Gabba Gallery yet. The only reason is because the gallery is by appointment only. It is still high on my list and I have every intention of perusing their artwork from emerging artists.

As someone who loves street, urban art, I was extremely impressed with their Gabba Alley Project, an ambitious effort by gallery owner Jason Ostro to revitalize the immediate neighborhood of Filipino Town. This project beautified various alleys and buildings around town with over 100 murals by local and international artists. There is also a 4th alley in Echo Park called Animal Alley, which as you can guess, depicts animals.

This whole concept is so uplifting. I have stopped to see these works of art twice already and would gladly go back to see them again. I hope more communities can pick up this project's lead and beautify LA further.
