LACMA CEO Michael Govan’s ongoing Director’s Series will next feature his talk with LA-based artist, musician, and composer Stephen Prina about his current exhibit at the museum, As He Remembered It. His showing includes 28 furniture pieces painted in bright bubblegum pink, recreated from the original plans for two now-demolished 1940s homes. Immediately following the conversation, there will be a screening of Prina’s short film, The Way He Always Wanted It II, about futuristic Ford House in Aurora, Illinois. This talk is bound to be mind-bending-- Prina is often labeled “post-conceptualist” for his deconstructive exploration of what art becomes outside of the studio.
