"Zoe Crosher: The Disappearing of Michelle duBois"

For its inaugural exhibition, Perry Rubenstein presents the final series of the Michelle duBois project from fast-rising artist and photographer Zoe Crosher. The works here represent a voyeuristic journey through the amateur archive of relentless traveler and self-documentarian, "Michelle duBois." By re-photographing, scanning and re-ordering duBois’ “autoportraits” into a careful amalgam of documentary and the imagined, Crosher blurs the line between fantasy and reality, calling into question our very sense of photographic narrative.
