Santa Monica Juneteenth Celebration
The beachside city has been hosting this Juneteenth celebration for 33 years—three decades before it was recognized as a federal holiday. The theme of this year’s family-friendly event, “A Family Affair: Unifying, Healing, and Restoring,” pays homage to the enduring legacy of Black resilience and culture with a free day of music—from West African drumming to jazz—spoken word poetry, storytelling, food trucks and shopping from local Black-owned small businesses.
