Moneyed, fashionable Downtowners gather nightly around the 50-foot circular bar at this lavish hangout, where the upscale atmosphere is a world away from the bleak stretch of Broadway outside. It's the kind of place in which you can imagine Nick and Nora Charles drinking themselves under the table in sophisticated fashion. On weekends, climb the stairs for some canoodling in the intimate lounge.

Just wait and take a moment to get situated as you enter this place. Broadway Bar is a journey from light to dark especially if you're coming straight from work when the sun is still up. An old time bar that is definitely different from your normal downtown LA bar.
It's located in a very eclectic part of the neighborhood with Urban Outfitters not too far away from it with an old school charm and industrial feel. I came for the happy hour (as anyone should do) where drinks priced around $3-$5 each, really not too bad!
I came on an off day and maybe a little too early as there was no one there when we came in, and maybe 2 more groups came about an hour later. My friends have been here before and they say that if you go on a really good night, it's totally packed and a very good mix of people. I'm intrigued with this place and maybe will try Broadway on a better night.
