Genesis (CLOSED)

When was the last time you went to a bar or club and thought, "Long lines? High cover charge? Shitty bouncers? This place is amazing!" Never, that's when. Fortunately, you get none of that at Genesis. What began as a pop-up and is now a permanent space that boasts both taxidermy and antique furniture, this bar-meets-club venue is like having a dance party in your friend's attic. Wear what you want, dance to great music, order a drink at the bar (there is no cocktail list, nor a snooty bartender who wants to muddle 15 ingredients) and hang out with like-minded Angelenos who just want to dance, drink and have a good time. It's definitely not your typical Hollywood scene—thank God.
