L.A.'s very first distillery opened in 2011, in a split-level, Arts District warehouse where visitors can taste their way through organic spirits that include bitters, rum, liqueur, whiskey, gin, tequila and vodka. Founded by husband-and-wife team Melkon Khosrovian and Litty Mathew, Greenbar strives to be eco-conscious: A tree is planted for every bottle sold, and labels are 100 percent recycled. Standouts here include the versatile Fruitlab Organic Orange Liqueur and the clean Slow Hand White Whiskey.

I drink, but I only drink well, and I live downtown. So yeah, this is where I spend a LOT of my time. I've done tours, classes, gone to their free parties and stocked my bar (it's like 1/2 Greenbar Distillery, 1/2....other) and they always make me feel welcome! Best staff ever, best liquor ever, best place in DTLA.
Love Greenbar Distillery! I'm all about organic liquor and these are definitely my favorite drinks - especially the grand poppy amaro and the tru lemon vodka. I always grab a bottle from this distillery if I'm nearby and I think all my friends have received a bottles as a gift :) they plant a tree each time I buy a bottle so drinking with my friends helps save the world. Perfect!
Greenbar Distillery makes some pretty fantastic spirits, but the best part is that they truly are "green" - ingredients are incredibly fresh, and any waste they may incur is funneled back into the earth in various ways. I really love their liquors, as well as the gin and rum they make. Be sure to take a tour - it's super informative, and you get to sample six different spirits in their very fashionable tasting room.
