Make your way to the back of Downtown’s Bar Calcson to find the hidden door to this thoughtfully elevated version of a well-loved dive bar. You’ll find easy-sipping and delicious housemade renditions of classic well drinks. Or opt for a shot and a cheap beer, that’s cool too. These days, the Slipper Clutch hosts live music most nights of the week. Follow the lit-up arrow sign that screams “HIGHBALLS” at the back of Bar Clacson, hang a right and find yourself in the Slipper Clutch, where you can find basic cocktails, highballs and tall boys. After you’ve ordered, take some time with the vintage arcade games and the pool table, or just wait for the show to begin.
