4 new brunches to dig into this weekend

So you're tired of standing in the brunch line at Sqirl, waiting 45 minutes for a table at Gjelina and wondering why everyone is taking so long to finish their French toast at EAT. Real problems, guys. Thankfully, there are a couple new brunches—boozy or otherwise—in town, and their newbie status likely means shorter wait times. Check out these restaurants where you can now score an eggs Benedict, some quality pancakes and a much-needed mimosa.

1. Paley (Hollywood): Paley has only been open for a couple months, but the stunning seafood-centric restaurant is already getting in on the brunch game. Show up on the weekend and you'll find grilled avocado with mustard green served on bâtard bread, a Britt Benedict and plenty of juices, smoothies and cocktails—including a mimosa flight with four juice flavors. Sat & Sun 11am-2:30pm

2. Plan Check (Sawtelle, Fairfax, Downtown): It's about time! Plan Check, the popular burger and beer hangout with three locations across LA, is now offering brunch at each venue—and yes, their crullers will be on the menu. Fried chicken and cruellers, to be exact, a playful take on the classic fried chicken and waffles duo. Menu offerings also include avocado toast, PCG (Plan Check Granola), biscuits and gravy, and a Plan Check egg sandwich. Pair with bottomless cocktails for $15 (we're partial to the Brass Monkey—half OJ, half hefeweizen). Sat 10am-2pm

3. 41 Ocean (Santa Monica): The Santa Monica hot spot just launched "Ocean's Brunch," a Sunday-only event that features dishes worthy of waking up for. Vanilla bean French toast, steak n' eggs, a lox and bagel, and more populate the menu, along with cocktails like The Other Mary and a DIY Mimosa. The fact that 41 Ocean is stumbling distance from the water doesn't hurt either. Sun 11am-3pm

4. Au Fudge (West Hollywood): Jessica Biel's kid-friendly restaurant opens early for brunch on the weekends, with dishes that will have both children and adults reaching for their forks. Think: waffle boards, a wet breakfast burrito, vanilla french toast and stacks of chocolate chip pancakes. Sat & Sun 8am-3pm
