Well, winter is finally here. To get us in the mood for Christmas next week, the heavens have decided to open and add an extra 45 minutes to our commute. Just go with it. Put on your sweats, bust out your umbrella (you have one of those, right?) and head on over to one of these restaurants for a piping bowl of ramen, chowder, tomato soup and more.

Tsukemen ramen from Tsujita

There might be a wait, but it's well worth it when you dip your noodles into Tsujita's thick tonkotsu soup (be sure to get your tsukemen topped with char sui).

A little New England weather calls for clam chowder, like Water Grill's chunky, classic version that'll warm you up in no time.

Chili from Chili John's

Whether you put it on spaghetti, spoon it over a hot dog or pile it high with white onions and shredded cheese, the chili from Chili John's in Burbank is always a good idea.

Pho at Pho 87

We're not going to tell you how to eat (or make) pho (ahem, Bon Appétit). We're just going to tell you that on a day like today, you should probably order some.

Grilled cheese and tomato soup at Greenspan's Grilled Cheese

I'm just going to start a grilled cheese blog....

Fact: There is no better marriage than the one between grilled cheese and tomato soup.
