5 new brunches to try this weekend

So you're tired of standing in the brunch line at Sqirl, waiting 45 minutes for a table at Gjelina, and wondering why everyone is taking so long to finish their french toast at EAT. Real problems, guys. Thankfully, there are a couple new brunches—boozy or otherwise—in town, and their newbie status likely means shorter wait times. Check out these five restaurants where you can now score an eggs Benedict, some quality pancakes and a much-needed mimosa.

1. Toca Madera: Uh, did someone say churro waffle? We could stop there, but we're also pretty pumped about the crispy chipotle chicken in this West Hollywood spot's chicken & waffle dish, as well as the chilaquiles, huevos rancheros and an entirely separate vegan menu. Stop by from 10am-3pm on Sundays to check out their new brunch menu, which also includes a damn fine Bloody Maria.

2. The Wallace: Now offering weekend brunch 11am-2pm on Saturdays and Sundays, Culver City's The Wallace is bringing it all to the table: praline french toast, pancakes, salmon gravlax, shakshouka and more are on hand to cure that throbbing hangover. Of course, you could always keep the good times going with their new breakfast cocktails (including one of our favorites, Early Ace).

3. Belcampo Meat Co.: The Grand Central Market stall has revamped their brunch menu—offered 9am-1pm on Saturdays and Sundays—to include beef hash and eggs, pulled pork benedict, paleo breakfast and, oh yes, made-to-order lard doughnuts featuring lemon curd, mixed berries and powdered sugar. Stop by G&B coffee for some caffeine as you waddle out of the market.

4. Ox & Son: The Montana Avenue newcomer has offered brunch on the weekend for a couple months now, but they recently added an extra day to their brunch schedule. Now you can come in on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10am-2:30pm for chocolate bacon bourbon pancakes, a banh mi breakfast bowl, kimchi white cheddar omelets and more.

5. Saddle Peak Lodge: This upscale lodge has always offered a solid brunch, but for the first time they're introducing some bubbly: bottomless mimosas from 10am-2pm every Sunday. The never-ending cocktail will cost a pretty penny—$18 per person—but if you've gathered here for a celebration or birthday brunch, it's worth the splurge.
