Spring has sprung! The birds are chirping and the flowers are budding. Vibrant colors are popping up everywhere, both outdoors and indoors. There is never a shortage of art shows and other creative events happening in our creative mecca, so if you have an affinity for arts and culture, check out one of the many events happening around the city this month.

Metro Art Presents: Music for Train Stations with dublab

Union Station is partnering with the online nonprofit radio station dublab for a free, month-long series that will awaken your senses. Say goodbye to the sound of chaos attributed to most train stations and say hello to “Music for Train Stations.” A special improvised performance by The Tenses and a DJ set by Ale will take over the metro station’s waiting area so you’ll be transported to musical bliss.

Class Acts

This art exhibit is not for the faint of heart. Five artists whose art pushes the envelope in controversial subjects will be featuring their art at Subliminal Projects, Shepard Fairey’s brainchild and gallery that provides a platform to cultivate fresh talent. The exhibit continues through March 26.

Viva La Muxer

If we ever forget how far women have come over the years, Queen B never fails to remind us that girls run this world. And if her catchy lyrics weren’t enough, women have a globally recognized day to commemorate all their achievements. International Women’s Day is around the corner and Viva La Muxer is a festival to celebrate the talented and diverse female artists and musicians in our community. Tickets will benefit Las Fotos Project, a nonprofit organization to empower teenage girls to speak their minds through an after-school photography mentorship program. March 5, 6-11pm

Maxwell Dickson Presents “Limited"

LA-based artist Maxwell Dickson is known for his versatile and colorful art designs that bring any home or office to life. The lifestyle artist will be hosting a free art show at the California Market Center showcasing a few of his limited edition pieces, a fashion show, food and wine. March 18, 9-11:30pm

Bergamot Station: Spring Fling

The annual Spring Fling brings together 30 galleries for a day of art, entertainment and food. Design your own floral arrangement, fold your own origami or learn how to dance the Argentinian tango. The family-friendly affair will feature a live performance by the Venice Symphony Orchestra and gourmet food trucks to satisfy your appetite. March 19, noon-4pm

Here’s the Thing Gallery Opening at Art Share L.A.

Over a dozen artists will have their art on display at the latest Art Share L.A. exhibit, which kicks off on March 12. Everyday objects will be transformed into a whimsical work of art that will make your wheels turn. March 12, 7-10pm
