Five months: That's how long we still have to wait to find out whether Los Angeles or Paris has been chosen to host the 2024 Summer Olympics. Until that fateful day in September arrives, we at least have some fresh new venue renderings to hold us over.
Local bid committee LA 2024 has been releasing a steady stream of concept images for its potential Olympic plans, and this latest batch in particular focuses on how some of L.A.'s most recognizable sports venues would be repurposed for the games.

In addition to historic venues like the Coliseum and the Rose Bowl, LA 2024 is also showing off how two currently under construction venues—the L.A. Football Club's Banc of California Stadium in Exposition Park as well as the Rams' Los Angeles Stadium in Inglewood—could factor into the games.
Meanwhile, a series of beach and water sport venues all over Southern California highlights the astonishing diversity of L.A.'s waterfronts, from sandy beachfronts to inland reservoirs.
Save for some far-flung locations, most of the venues are clustered around UCLA, the Sepulveda Basin, Long Beach and, most significantly, Downtown L.A., which would host a slew of entertainment events, a pedestrian village and the opening ceremonies at the nearby Coliseum.
The Downtown-centric, cost-effective plan would stress the city's preparedness—97 percent of the proposed Olympic venues already exist. The latest version of the bid plan reinsures the public that the Games would be privately funded, that no existing communities or businesses would be displaced and that, theoretically, they would act as a catalyst for green spaces and healthy living.
L.A. will find out on September 13 of this year whether it or Paris will be awarded the games after a presentation in Lima, Peru.
