Although it's true that Los Angeles and the rain don't exactly get along, at least their relationship is nuanced—the city's infrastructure isn't equipped to handle precipitation, but at the same time, it would be nice to put an end to the drought. The wind, on the other hand, is only trouble.

This weekend, a wind storm peaked at 70 mph in LA and Ventura counties, taking down power lines and trees, and generally wreaking havoc across the area. In total, more than 150,000 people were without power. The latest reports say that power is gradually being restored (more than 52,000 customers as of 10:45am PT) but many Angelenos remain in the dark (can you even read this?).

Until the wind dies down and power is restored, please be safe. In the meantime, take a look at some of insanity that the wind storm has caused so far.

Fallen trees closed California 58 between Mojave and Keene.

Trees also blocked off several lanes of the 134 Freeway near Pass Avenue in Burbank.

The I-5 through the Grapevine was closed in both directions due to dangerous conditions Sunday.

A man and his bicycle were pulled out of the LA River near 4th Street.

A humongous tree toppled over in Echo Park.

The mess wasn't just in LA: In San Diego, a large tree fell on a car, and killed a woman inside.

La Jolla Summit also saw several downed trees.
