As difficult as it may be to hear, it might be time to put the breaks on your weekly (daily?) Chipotle habbit—at least until the restaurant's recent E. coli outbreak is sorted out. Last month, cases of E. coli were linked to stores in Oregon and Washington. Next, the outbreak was reported in Minnesota. Now it has spread to an additional six states, according to the LA Times, including two restaurants in Turlock, CA, which is east of San Jose.

The Times reports that, as it stands now, the E. coli is not linked to a specific ingredient.

As a result of the initial outbreak, Chipotle closed 43 stores in the Pacific Northwest, all of which have since reopened. So far, no other stores are closing—but if you ask us, better safe than sorry. We'll be getting our burritos, tacos and quesadillas somewhere else for now.
