Eggslut is bringing its signature breakfast sandwiches to a new location in Venice

It started as a food truck, morphed into a Grand Central Market stall and now, after drawing some of the longest breakfast lines in the city (and serving perhaps LA's most Instagrammed sandwich), Eggslut has secured a second location in Venice. There's no word on when exactly the egg-centric eatery from Alvin Cailan will open, but here's what we do know: the new space is located at 1611 Pacific Avenue, just around the corner from Hotel Erwin and two blocks from the historic Venice sign that dangles over Windward Avenue. The 1,300-square-foot space used to be home to Santino's, a casual sandwich and pizza shop, but we highly doubt there will be too many tears shed. Goodbye regular ol' sandwiches, hello beautiful breakfast sandwiches.

The move is a natural progression for Eggslut, which has consistently topped LA guides and tourists' to-do lists since it opened at GCM in 2013. Cailan also opened Ramen Champ earlier this year, but has since handed the restaurant over to Yoshimasa Kasai, who previously ran the Ramen Yokocho festival.

Westsiders will most likely be kept waiting for the new Eggslut to open at least until the end of the year. In the meantime, hop onto the line at GCM and take part in some solid people watching while you wait for a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. It was one of our best breakfast dishes in 2014, and we have a feeling it'll be just as popular in Venice in 2016.
