There's really no other way to say this: On September 18, also known as National Cheeseburger Day, famed cheese carver Troy Landwehr will be carving a Guinness World Record-breaking cheese sculpture in the shape of a giant cheeseburger. Partnering with the grilled-cheese-and-burger chain The Melt, Landwehr will start carving the world's largest cheeseburger at 10am at Hollywood & Highland, slicing and shaving and paring down a block of 100% Wisconsin cheddar until a giant cheeseburger emerges. The final piece of work will weigh more than 1,000 pounds, measuring 45 inches high and 38 inches across. That's some serious cheddar.

Cheese fans, The Melt fans and fans of watching records being broken are encouraged to stop by to gawk, gasp and take photos. In fact, if you snap a cheeseburger selfie with the carving and post it to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Vine, you'll be entered to win free cheeseburgers for a year from The Melt. Just be sure to tag your photo #TheBigCheese2015.

This isn't Landwehr's first rodeo. He's carved the Statue of Liberty—see the time lapse video below—Lincoln Memorial, Mount Rushmore and other sculptures out of cheese.

The event will run from 10am-3pm, with the official sculpture weigh-in at 1pm and the Guinness proclamation at 2pm. And then? Well, then there will be a giant, cheeseburger-shaped hunk of cheese in the middle of Hollywood. Because where else would this happen?
