We love a good collaboration, but never more so when it involves ice creamCoolhaus, LA's ice cream sandwich juggernaut, is known for coming up with wacky flavors on a seasonal basis, but their new alliance with Hanjip is something truly unique. And yes, it goes way beyond kimchi-flavored ice cream.

This week, the Culver City restaurant started serving a series of Coolhaus desserts for diners wanting something a little different at the end of their meal. The ice cream sandwiches include Korean Chili Fries, Hawaiian Pizza and Korean Cookies & Cream, and they're a doozy. Order the Korean Chili Fries and you'll find yourself eating red bean ice cream with shoestring fries, held together by snack-food chip cookies (butterscotch, pretzels and potato chips). The Hawaiian Pizza features pineapple ice cream flecked with pieces of Spam and sandwiched between white chocolate macadamia nut cookies, while the Korean Cookies & Cream is made with Tahitian vanilla ice cream with bits of Korean choco pies, all between chocolate covered Whoopee Pie cookies.

The sandwiches are already available at Hanjip, but if you stop by the neighborhood this Saturday, June 11, from 6-8pm, the Coolhaus truck will be parked outside, ready to offer the mashup as well. Any diners eating at Hanjip during that time will score a voucher for a free sando from the truck. And really, who wants to go through life without eating Spam and pineapple ice cream? Not us.
