How to get free tickets and attend AFI Fest

Brittany Martin

AFI Fest is all about preserving and sharing cinema—and, as a gift to the community, they give away tickets so you can get in on that sharing for free

Like the sound of free tickets to amazing films? Here's how to get your hands on some.

Sign up on AFI's website to be alerted when the tickets become available. Once AFI makes them available on November 1, just pick your screenings and reserve your free seats. You'll be able to get two free tickets per screening and up to 10 tickets per order, per day. You can request up to a total of 30 tickets over the course of the festival.

A friendly reminder: you must either pick up the tickets at the Hollywood & Highland box office or print your tickets at home. You do need to have a physical ticket or a print-out to be admitted—email confirmations on your iPhone don't count.

For a film-lover who wants priority access to, after-parties, opening night gala invites and more VIP offerings—or just wants to be guaranteed entry without having to get free tickets before they're all claimed—several festival passes and packages are for sale. If you join the American Film Institute before October 27, they'll hook you up with a member Cinepass for the festival as well.

So get on it! And while you're at it, here's our guide to AFI Fest, including places to eat and drink near the theaters.
