Now this is a run we can get behind. The first-ever Champagne Runch 5K/10K is taking place in Long Beach on Sunday March 6, and while it does involve walking or running 3.1 miles—or 6.2 miles for you overachievers—runners will get to celebrate in a big way once they cross the finish line.

Participants will be rewarded with a five-course brunch (yes, five) catered by some of Long Beach's most popular eateries—The Attic on Broadway, The Halal Guys, Restauration, California Donuts and Drizzle Ice Cream. Each venue will be in charge of one course. In addition, Contra Coffee & Tea will be serving nitrogen gas-infused coffee and tea, and Juicemi Gourmet will have cold-pressed juices on offer. To top it off, runners will be treated to one complimentary glass of champagne—though we think it should be more like two or three, but maybe we just have a problem.

The run starts and finishes at the Queen Mary Events Park, which is adjacent to the Queen Mary and will make for beautiful views during the run and brunch. Tickets to participate in the event, which takes place from 10am to 3pm on March 6, are $80 for the 5K and $95 for the 10K (just one more reason not to do the longer run!). Be sure to wear running shorts with some pockets where you can store you valid ID if you plan to participate in the champagne part of the day—and why wouldn't you??

Check out the course map below, or find out more about the event and register here.
