The Wilshire Grand keeps creeping toward taking away the US Bank Tower's title of "tallest building west of the Mississippi River," but that hasn't stopped the current record holder from announcing its own sky-high additions: restaurant 71Above, an observation deck and now a glass slide.

Skyslide, an outdoor glass slide suspended 1,000 feet above Downtown Los Angeles, will send visitors from the US Bank Tower's 70th floor down to the 69th. The slide is attached to the open-air OUE Skyspace LA, which opens with Skyslide on June 25.

The not-for-acrophobics attraction puts 1 ¼ inches of clear glass—and some hopefully sound engineering—between you and the ground, along a 45-foot long, 4-foot wide slide.

Tickets for Skyspace LA go on sale Friday, March 18, though you can sign up for presale tickets now. Admission to the observation deck (9am-11pm) costs $25, though you'll need a separate timed ticket for the Skyslide for $8.
