You may have seen Van Leeuwen's butter yellow ice cream truck roaming LA streets for the past year and a half, but the New York import is now making it easier to find their creamy classic and vegan flavors. This Saturday, Van Leeuwen's first brick and mortar in Los Angeles is opening at One Santa Fe—and to celebrate, they're giving you free scoops of ice cream. Free. Ice Cream. Is there a better way to end the week?

Stop by from 1 to 4pm on November 21 and you'll be able to indulge in VL's popular flavors, like ginger, pistachio and cookies and cream, along with vegan specialties like salted caramel and caramelized banana nut. The store, which was founded by Laura O'Neill and brothers Ben and Pete Van Leeuwen, also plans to sell brand new flavors: pumpkin pie, mocha and donut, sour cream berry crumble and vegan matcha green tea ice cream.

"We're so thrilled to be opening in LA," says Pete Van Leeuwen. "Our Downtown location is the perfect spot to enjoy a cone, cup, sundae or one of the many special flavors we will have on offer." Hmm, bold statement, Pete. We're thinking this calls for a little research.

The new Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream shop will open at One Santa Fe (300 S Santa Fe Avenue, Downtown Arts District). Stop by for free scoops between 1 and 4pm on 11/21.
