If you're a music fan and you've lived in LA long enough to scan through the radio stations in your car, you've found KCRW. This NPR-affiliate is a local gem for sure, but it's also a powerhouse in the world of NPR Music.

Case in point: the many live sessions with super buzzy bands at Bob Clearmountain's Apogee Studio in Santa Monica that are broadcast at a later date on Morning Becomes Eclectic. For the first time ever, there will be a live webcast of an Apogee session with Alabama Shakes tonight, the release date of their new album Sound & Color. There have been previous live webcasts of sessions (like this one with Interpol) but this is the first from Apogee Studio—and yes, the space is totally souped up with the most cutting-edge Apogee recording equipment and the list of artists who have recorded there is pretty mind-blowing.

Back to Alabama Shakes (whom we loved at Coachella). The performance and webcast with Jason Bentley hosting begins at 7pm local time Monday night, and you can find it on KCRW's site or at NPR Music. If you miss it, it will be broadcast on Morning Becomes Eclectic on April 27.
