Ladies, grab your best gals—it's time for that yearly celebration of female friendship we call Galentine's Day (the badass babe cousin of Valentine's Day). We've rounded up some of the best events across the city where girls can be girls, because let's be honest, Valentine's Day is overrated and your true loves are your girlfriends, forever and ever.

Even Vanity Ends Galentine's Day Party

Head to the Downtown Pomona Arts District for snacks, sips and dancing, along with music by Christine Alicia and Bethany Jepsen and spoken word poetry by Arielle Estoria. Dress code is "sparkly" and boys be warned, this is a strictly girls only event. Friday Feb 12, 7pm-10pm, 400 W 2nd St, Pomona. $8.

Shout & About Galentine's Day Party

This sweet Echo Park shop is hosting a shindig with cakes from Matchbox Kitchen, flower arrangements from Iris & Daughter and a limited run of live portraits done by artist Ann Shen ($40 a pop). You'll also be able to buy Shen's limited edition paintings for $30 while mixing and mingling with a lovey-dovey local crowd. Saturday Feb 13, 10am-3pm, 1547 Echo Park Ave. Free.

Galentine's Day at Social Butterflies LA

Enjoy sweets and cocktails, plus discounts on in-store apparel, makeup for $7-$20 and deals on lash extensions. There will also be a free raffle for a swag bag including gift certificates for merchandise and services. Saturday Feb 13, noon-7pm, 8222 W 3rd St. Free.

GALentine's Party: A Very Queer Valentine's Event

No matter your sexual proclivities, this party at the Roar Room is sure to get your heart thumping with two DJ sets sandwiching a "Dykes on Mics" comedy show, a drag show, organized drinking games and a live music set by Zoccola. Entry is free, but get 50% off drinks by purchasing a $5 rainbow wristband, which also enters you to win booze and prizes. Saturday, Feb 13, 7pm-midnight, 3645 Foothill Blvd, La Crescenta. Free.

GALentine's Day by the Blindspot Project

The Blindspot Project is a live liquid light show that graces the backdrop of many SoCal shows. This Valentine's Day, they're showcasing live lady bands Pearl Charles, Emily Gold (who will also be premiering a new music video), Regrettes, Iris and Genessa. Plus free pizza! 21+. Saturday Feb 13, 7pm-2am, 601 S Clarence Ave. $7.
