Twyla Tharp: 50th Anniversary Celebration

One of the most recognized names in dance, Twyla Tharp is bringing her company to the Wallis during their 50th anniversary tour. How to celebrate? With two brand new works commissioned for this milestone tour. Set to music by contemporary composer John Zorn, American jazz and music from Bach's "Well-Tempered Clavier," the performances will be a little of everything, or a real signature Tharp program. Four very highly respected organizations commissioned this work in addition to the Wallis: Ravinia Festival and Auditorium Theatre in Chicago, the Joyce Theater in New York, Kennedy Center in D.C. and TITAS Presents and AT&T Performing Arts Center in Dallas.
