X Games

After a decade of hosting the premiere summertime action sports festival, LA will stage its last X Games for the foreseeable future. In addition to the usual events at LA Live, this year's competition premieres a new car racing event at Irwindale Speedway. Competitors from around the world battle for both honor and treasure in extreme sports; thousands of adoring fans risk sunstroke to cheer them on. For those less interested in revving engines and death-by-wheels-defying feats, the festival will also feature musical performances from the Presets, Tanlines and Pepper.
