The mixology movement in Los Angeles has gained considerable steam in the past few years, and yet Julian Cox continues to stay one step ahead. The celebrated mixologist, who transformed Rivera's bar program into one of the city's best, is now celebrating five years at the Latin restaurant—and wants you to join him. From 8:30-11pm on February 6, Cox will be behind the bar, serving both new winter cocktails and classic drinks from his mixology archive—like the fan favorite Barbacao, a mix of mezcal, chipotle, ginger, and lime, garnished with beef jerky. He'll have some help, too: Guest bartenders Jeremy Lake, Kristina Howald, Matt Wagner, Erik Lund, Anne Marie Ceralvo, and Krishna Vulta will be there to join him. To compliment the flowing liquor, Chef Sedlar will be previewing small bites from his new menu.
