Time Out says

If you weren't quite satisfied with your level of 4th of July debauchery, why not use France's version of the holiday as an excuse to get your soirée on all over again? This July 14, celebrate the 224th anniversary of the storming of Bastille with a fête of libations, edibles and musique at the Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills. The revelry will begin at 4pm and become increasingly more dionysian until midnight. Engage in sophisticated games like Petanque and chess while sipping Thienot champagne before cutting a rug to the musical stylings of French DJ Pierre Zonzon. A visit from France's Consul General, Axel Cruau, will make your tribute to French nationanlism all the more authentic, as will the live Can Can performance and songful Edith Piaf tribute. General admission will set you back $20—a bargain, if you think of it in euros.
