SIP-tember

September is Pasadena's favorite month for one reason and one reason only: cocktails. From August 15 to September 26, local restaurants will enter specialty mixed drinks for an annual contest know as SIP-tember: A Celebration of the Cocktail. We, tipplers, decide which of the 64 competing cocktails are worthy, and on September 26, a live taste-off at the Rose Bowl will determine the four drinks that win their bracket (taste-off tickets go for $25). Brackets will be viewable on Pasadena's Restaurant Week website on August 5, and voting goes live on August 15—a day when the town will also celebrate the birthday of Pasadena native Julia Child with a citywide booze fest (period cocktail attire suggested). Who knew they were such excellent partiers in the SGV?
