Six Taste Food Tour—Little Tokyo

The Little Tokyo tour was Six Taste's first, and is still one of its best. Sample some of the area's most scrumptious culinary treats and learn about the neighborhood's history, Japanese culture and the local food scene. Highlights include mochi from Fugetsu-Do, the oldest business in Little Tokyo; fresh tuna belly and traditional red bean pastries (imagawayaki). The guides are knowledgable and friendly—if possible, ask for Brian, who's hilarious and gives expert lessons on how to eat sushi correctly. Note: If you're thinking about skipping this one due to a distaste for raw fish, don't—there are alternatives to every suhi dish, so you won't feel left out.
