Who's Your Bubbie

Feeling nostalgic for family but can't make it home this Thanksgiving? Come to the Skirball Center and experience food and other people's families at this special event to help launch BeyondBubbie.com. The site is an interactive community cookbook featuring family recipes and the stories behind them. (The word "Bubbie" is Yiddish for grandmother.) Feel free to come solo, but make sure to bring your favorite recipe to be shared on the site. Recipes will be entered into a drawing for gift certificates to Mezze, Cooks County and STREET. Tickets include nosh and conversation with guests like Los Angeles Times Food Critic Johnathan Gold and James Beard Award winner David Sax, as well as chefs Roxana Jullapat (Cooks County), Micah Wexler (Mezze) and Akasha Richmond (Akasha), who will be talking to Evan Kleiman of Good Food.
