Any longtime Cinefamily fan has their quibbles (they've only recently gotten better about starting shows on time, sometimes shows are oversold so if you're the last one in you're standing), but no one can deny the strength of this indie theatre's programming.  Their selection is unparalleled--see a first run indie feature or a retrospective of a lesser known Polish director.  Aussie horror film unavailable on DVD?  The Descent with Neil Marshall in person?  Midnight screenings of ridiculous horror?  Cinefamily has it all.

Cinefamily is one of the best things about LA, period. Their wacky programming brings so much joy and weirdness and knowledge, they never take themselves too seriously, except for seriously preserving the art of cinema. The back patio parties are always a blast, and it's the theater I most want to see every movie in, sitting in a room full of likeminded folks who appreciate the place just as much as I do.

Cinefamily! You're amazing. I love the fantastic programs and events that go on here, all the weird, crazy movies I've seen that you would be hard pressed to find elsewhere, and the community feel you get snuggled into the theater will other movie lovers. Forget those fancy reclining chairs and order-from-your-seat service at other theaters (OK, maybe don't forget them, but that's for another time and place). —Cinefamily is for people who really love the theater experience, and have a passion for film.
