Looking to cap off your summer movie nights with a grand slam? The 2015 Lift-Off Film Festival is launching into the heart of Hollywood (motion picture city) the last week of August for back-to-back screenings of quality indie productions. Filmmakers and fanatics alike from across the globe will gather amidst Raleigh Studios for a gratis commemoration of films meeting the “talent before technology” motto. Meaning? Angelenos can expect more innovative narratives, creativity, and visuals at the forefront, rather than high-budget, blockbuster-type industry films. From August 24 to 26, attendees can catch the shorts at 7-9pm, and vote on each film post-screening for best narrative live action, best documentary, special mentions, and more niche categories. The fest will open with A Complicated Way to Live by Ged Hunter and culminate in a Saturday night soiree curated for networking and to announce the grand winners. For a taste of the whole menu, check out the full breakdown of films online and reserve a free spot before seats sell out!
