Dead & Company
Time Out says
Deadheads everywhere shed a tear when the wildly popular Fare Thee Well shows marked the final concert appearance of the “core four” Grateful Dead members (Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Bob Weir and Phil Lesh). But hope continues to be revived in the guise of Dead & Company. The lineup replaces bassist Phil Lesh—who departed for his own project, Phil and Friends—with Allman Brothers bassist Oteil Burbridge. And instead of previous Jerry Garcia stand-in Trey Anastasio on axe, they’ve added a newcomer that no one saw coming: bluesy singer-songwriter John Mayer.
