The Arcade Fire of reggae (the band members consistute a small army!), Groundation is named for a communal musical Rastafarian ceremony, "Grounation." The band has earned fans all across the world, but it got its start in the jazz program of California's Sonoma State University. The eclectic, socially conscious group is known for its live shows, in which it blends elements of jazz, funk, salsa, fusion and transcendental dub for a truly universal appeal. Fellow roots reggae acts Paula Fuga and Mike Love will start off the night.
