King Krule, the hotly buzzed one-man act of mopey teenager Brit Archy Marshall, is not to be overlooked. His music is languid post-punk, given a veil of romanticism by the echoing, ’50s guitar tone he expertly uses and lyrics about the bleakness of youth he delivers with a shockingly deep voice. This Echo show sold out rapidly, and Krule’s new album 6 feet Beneath The Moon has been deemed “album of the year” by KCRW’s Mario Cotto. Something in the air indicates this kid’s on the up-and-up.
