Best known up to now for her airy singing and gritty fiddling in the brilliant young newgrass combo Nickel Creek, Sara Watkins issued a gorgeous, assured eponymous solo album on Nonesuch in 2009, which served notice of an undeniably grown-up talent. At the Bootleg Theater in May, she plays from her equally lovely, even more ambitious sophomore disc from 2012, Sun Midnight Sun.
