Zola Jesus

A former opera singer, Nika Roza Danilova now makes dark, artsy electro-pop layered with enigmatic wailing as Zola Jesus—a name she came up with to alienate herself from bullies while at school. Now the 25-year-old is touting a sparkling new album, Taiga—her fifth full-length, and her first for the Mute record label. She'll bring her soulful synth-pop to the Constellation Room, inside of the Observatory in Santa Ana.
