Alcove Cafe

Housed in two historic bungalows, this cottage-like cafe serves up large plates of gourmet American classics (breakfast items served until 5pm, salads, wraps, paninis and more) loved by health-conscious locals. A popular brunch spot, expect to wait in a long, curvy line around the large garden patio during peak morning hours with homemade iced tea and lemonade poured for guests waiting in line. Be sure to grab Alcove's very own chocolate bars by the register (mimosa, red velvet, salted caramel are just a few flavors) as well as the plethora of baked goods in the pastry window. The adjacent Big Bar at Alcove offers hand-crafted cocktails, craft beers and fine wines alongside reinvented upscale bar food. Check the website for upcoming events such as live music and outdoor screenings.

What a cute little spot in Los Feliz. With plenty of outdoor seating or a cosy, if expansive, bungalow to dine it, you really get the best of both worlds. I seem to always make it here for quiet time although I am told it can get very busy. A typical LA brunch menu is paired with good coffee and friendly servers. There's a bar attached for those who'd prefer to visit later in the day and the sleepy demeanour of the surrounding neighbourhood give the whole place a wonderful calmness. It does what it needs to do very well.

One of the best date places in LA. This a great place to come for breakfast and coffee in the morning or sit under the lit trees at night.

One of the best restaurants in Los Feliz! It's such a beautiful and peaceful environment to eat in and the food is stellar! You order at the cashier and take a number and they bring out your food for you. The service is very friendly as well!

In addition to the garden setting seating option that makes you feel like you're just having a delicious meal in the back yard of your dream home their summer events are awesome! Free movie night showing throughout the summer with curated food and drink options that pair with the theme of that nights movie. They don't take reservations but if you are willing to stand in a small line for a few minutes there isn't a bad seat in the house! (Or garden I suppose) And don't forget to try the desserts!!

This is a beautiful place to eat. There's no table service at this place—you line up and order at the counter. The outdoor area is surrounded by trees and it feels like you're dining in a secret garden. At night, there are twinkle lights so it's pretty romantic. The food is stellar—great selection of sandwiches, salads, brunch items, and pastries.
