Formally a private home, Aroma Coffee & Tea Company has transformed itself into a restaurant and cafe where you can grab a coffee to go or order a full meal to enjoy in one of the many seating areas. The inside of the restaurant boasts a homey, library-like ambiance, while the outside is more casual with multiple seats on the back patio and some tables on the sidewalk, so you'll never have trouble finding a spot to sit. Desserts arrive fresh from famous bakeries across LA—we recommend trying the bee sting dessert or one of the velvet cakes. The food itself is faux French-American (the garlic and herb fries are a must-try), but our favorite time to visit? Brunch, when savory omelets and French toast galore are shuttled out of the kitchen to chic Valley dwellers.

Adorable, friendly, and cozy place to grab breakfast, coffee, or lunch with friends and family. On the weekends the lines can be crazy here, but inside and on the patio there are plenty of tables and space. Everything is delicious, from the coffees and teas to the pastries, benedict dishes, and sandwiches. Pro tip: If you have a group of 6 or larger, they will let you reserve a table and ensure you have enough space for everyone in your party.

tastemaker Aroma Cafe is what cafe dreams are made of. The menu is expansive, the food is always excellent, the staff is fun and friendly and it has charm for days. It may look deceptively small from the outside, but once you place your order you'll see plenty of seating -- both indoors and outdoors on their wraparound patio. There isn't anything I wouldn't recommend on this menu. Its perfect for a long sunday brunch or a weeknight date night. Weekend lines can get a little crazy, but it's well worth the wait.

I would battle the brunch lines at Aroma any day; I love it that much. The rosemary potatoes are addictive, the chai lattes are spot on, and the space is a quaint mix of a backyard garden and a charming library-like dining room. But even more than brunch, I love coming here after dinner for a cup of coffee and one of their decadent slices of pie. It's hard not to drool when you're waiting in line, just staring at those cakes and pies behind the case. I'm partial to the German chocolate kind, but the peanut butter and chocolate (just...chocolate. Everything, chocolate.) is fantastic, too. Oh, and you'll probably see some famous people.
