Cafe Pinot is a great place to come for a glass of wine out on the patio, where you can escape LA for a bit while still being surrounded by it. But the food needs some work - we had mac and cheese that was completely overpowered by truffles, and a grilled flatbread that fell, well, flat. Stick to drinks!

The patio here is just lovely: a twinkly tree-lined space that looks out onto the Central Library and the red brick California Club. It just doesn't feel like Los Angeles, or at least not the Los Angeles we know today. The food, unfortunately, just isn't very good so stick to a happy hour drink.

Cafe Pinot had great service. However, the food was just ok. I had the roast chicken and fries and it tasted ok. The chicken was juicy, but a bit bland. The garlic fries were ok, and tasted like any other garlic fries I've had - except this one was overpriced. I did enjoy the brownie dessert and coffee. #TOTastemaker
