Canter's Deli

This reliable piece of local history, still owned by the Canter family after nearly 80 years, is both a fine old-school Jewish deli and one of LA's favorite after-hours places. Come here at 2am, and you're bound to see musicians from all over town who've just got off-stage and want to tuck into some blintzes or a stacked pastrami sandwich. The mural by the parking lot chronicles Jewish history in LA.

All day service, free pickles, jewish deli/diner standards, and sometimes crotchety but sweet waitresses. What else could you want from this place? Canters is an LA staples and totally worthwhile for a late night snack or if you're in the mood for some authentic deli goodness. Also, don't sleep on their to-go/takeaway items as well. Their bagels (everything in particular) & salmon cream cheese are top notch additions to any brunch.

One of the few places left in all of Los Angeles where the food quality, consistency and the great service has never changed. Plus the hours of operation are fantastic.
