Time Out says

One of LA's most beloved Mexican establishments is turning 60 this summer.  Since its opening in 1956, Casa Vega has grown to become a landmark serving not just valley dwellers but Angelenos near and far. On July 16, Casa Vega welcomes renowned chef and cousin Javier Plascencia from Mexico's Misión 19 for an intimate, al fresco dinner for Casa Vega's loyal patrons. Guests can enjoy a seven-course menu featuring the restaurant's signature dishes, as well as personal recipes from owner Christy Vega and custom plates by Javier Palscencia, all while viewing family photos spanning the history of this Ventura Blvd fixture and listening to live mariachi. There is complimentary valet parking, and a portion of the ticket proceeds benefit the Los Angeles Food Bank. The attire is dressy, and tickets can be purchased online.
