The two-level patio at Cliff's Edge, which somehow shelters itself from Sunset Boulevard at its doorstep, is its own little island in the middle of Silver Lake. In the center grows a gnarled tree that rains down miniature figs in the summer; at night, twinkling lights twist around centerpiece to light up the space. The modern American-focused menu offers plates of crispy octopus, porcini mushroom pastilla, and foie gras terrine, while the inventive cocktail list guarantees a night of satsified sipping.

What a great find in Silverlake! This certainly is a hidden gem in the neighborhood as the door is very hidden.  Thanks to Yelp I was able to find it! You'll have to enter through the valet parking lot.

The main dining space is the outdoor patio space! WOW! It's such a pretty place and is perfect for the amazing LA weather we have year round.  The inside part of the restaurant is quite intimate as well and it looked like they had a great long bar area.  There's plenty of seating and tables throughout the restaurant but it's always helpful to have a reservation.

The menu is a simple one pager which I appreciate since it's easy to pick and choose.  I actually ordered one of their speciality dishes - the lamb masala.  I was a bit hesitant to try an Indian dish at a new American restaurant but it was something that was more fusion than anything.

The brussel sprouts were a good option too.  The wine list is quite extensive I have to say and was pretty surprised with the options as well as the price points.  They had some bottles in the $400 range.

The setting here is unexpectedly fantastic—walk into the patio area and you're greeted with a green, twinkly, relaxed dining area. My food here was pretty disappointing, though—the pasta was way too salty. The bread and butter, of all things, was pretty delicious, though. Come here for the ambiance—the food? Eh.

Cliff's Edge was a beautiful outdoor dining experience.  The food was great and the ambiance was very romantic.  Great date place!
