A fire station turned Silver Lake standby, Edendale draws equal parts Los Feliz families and the Eastside creative class (with frequent overlaps between the two), who fill the sunny patio of this gracious, Spanish-style building. The menu here offers a little something for everyone, with dishes that range from a full English Breakfast—complete with bangers and baked beans—to a crispy fried Chicken & Waffle. Oh, and let's not forget the booze. With the Silver Lake Reservoir just a few blocks away, you can safely order the bottomless mimosas—$20—and plan on walking them off after brunch.

Edendale is a neighborhood staple. Their food is simple but executed perfectly. There wine list is comprehensive and rotates frequently. The back patio is the hidden gem of Glendale Blvd. I have spent countless nights out there till close, enjoying the beautiful space, great wine, and excellent company.
You don't come here for the food. You come here for the socializing. The drinks are fine—if you're picky, order a whiskey neat and hush up, there's people-watching and flirting to do. The bartenders are always friendly, and the back patio has at least one celebratory gathering happening at all times. Which means friends of friends of friends of friends for you to meet, reconnect with, make out with... and there's a photo booth to capture it all for posterity.
I keep trying to give Edendale a chance, and each time something seems to come up short. Most of the time, it's the drinks. I've had cocktails, beer and wine here, and they've all been fairly underwhelming, especially some of the more custom cocktails. Appetizers are OK. I might be one of the few people who feel this way about Edendale, since it's always packed with (super stylish) people. I have to say, I fall for the ambiance with every visit, especially their outdoor patio which somehow feels like you've escaped from the city and are having drinks in a friend's private backyard.
