Whether it's the simple layout and laid-back atmosphere, or owner Sumi Chang's perfectly flaky croissants and legendary sundried-tomato-infused egg salad sandwiches, it's not hard to justify an entire afternoon whiled away at this choice Pasadena cafe.

Both locations have an amazing assortment of pastries and baked goods. Their sandwiches and salads are so colorful and fresh. Their egg salad is particularly legendary!
Continuing the tradition of unexpected gems housed in strip malls, this bakery and cafe is one of my favorites in the area. The open face egg salad sandwich is the usual go-to here, but I happen to really love the avocado BLT. The thick slabs of bacon come hot and perfectly cooked topped with juicy tomatoes; usually I'll get it on a fresh ciabatta. The bread alone is worth a visit as are the macarons (salted caramel is my favorite). There's another, larger location west on Colorado, but I like the original here; it's less crowded and you can order half sandwiches.
