Fig

A seasonal bistro named after Santa Monica's famous landmark, the Moreton Bay Fig tree, FIG places a strong emphasis on sustainability and local ingredients. The restaurant, which is located inside the Fairmont Miramar Hotel, keeps things interesting with an ever-changing seasonal menu, as well as a cheese and charcuterie bar, impressive wine selection and a signature cocktail program.

As with most restaurants in the area, FIG has an abundance of fresh, tasty options on the menu. It's a farm-to-table restaurant located within the Fairmont Miramar Hotel and is perfect for a light lunch.

Pictured below is a cant-miss item--the bread balloon. It's essentially a big, fluffy, freshly baked pita with various dipping options. We got hummus and devoured it. As a table, we also devoured an avocado toast, and everyone was more than satisfied with their individual items that ranged across the salad/sandwich/pizza options.

The setting complements the menu. It's very bright and airy with a nice view out to the pool. Cannot wait for my next visit.

I second Erin's recommendation—the Golden Herb cocktail is amazing, and I never usually order tequila. Yum! The setting here is lovely whether you're inside or out, and the food is fantastic. Very impressive—and if you're so inclined, there's a gym with classes open to the public just down the hallway of the hotel, as well as a spa....

I recently came to FIG for their weekend brunch and had such a lovely time. If their Golden Herb cocktail is still on the menu, definitely order it - it's such a light, refreshing blend of tequila, celery, dill, agave and bitters. The heirloom carrots and kale tabbouli are fantastic, as is the farm egg shakshouka. If possible, ask for a spot by the pool—you'll get a nice ocean breeze while gazing out over the cool blue (chlorinated) water.
