Time Out says

Southern California may have spawned the golden arches, but no other regional fast food export has a local and out-of-towner following quite like In-N-Out. "Did you go to In-N-Out?" is bound to come up in any conversation when a tourist visits LA. And honestly, it's hard to argue with less-than-$3 cheeseburgers, late-night hours and a not-so-secret menu that offers a surprising level of customization for a fast food spot.

I feel like the odd person out here, but I don't think that these burgers are worth the hype. Are they better than your typical fast food burger? Yes. But, are they worth the long lines that are usually there? I don't think so. I had the cheeseburger and found the beef to be dry and not too flavorful. Was expecting more from all of the good things I've heard. Disappointing.

Best fast food burgers in the US... Anytime I go to LA I am sure to go to In-N-Out at least once, make sure that you get the animal fries. Simple menu with great food - there is a reason why people love In-N-Out!

The burgers are so juicy and the fries yummy! A great place for scrumptious fast food :)

I'm a vegetarian so I don't eat at a lot of fast food places but I absolutely love this California staple! If you're a vegetarian like me, I highly suggest ordering their grilled cheese with tomatoes and onions along with animal style fries. So delicious!!

Hands-down best fast food burger ever! Once a California gem, you can now find the red palm tree lined cups as far away as Texas.  There's still nothing like having a double-double animal style in the Golden State.  Any local will tell you that the line at In-N-Out equates to an event-worthy outcome, which means that this fast food fare is relegated to special occasions or intense cravings. If you're a tourist, you must experience In-N-Out at least once to tell the tale to your friends and family.

In-N-Out is like a beacon of deliciousness to me. No matter where you are in California, if you see an In-N-Out sign you know you can order a reliably tasty burger. I stick with the cheeseburger—Double-Double if I'm hungry—done animal style (mustard grilled, extra spread, pickles). The one bummer here are the fries. Even if you get them topped with cheese they're just not as good as you'd hope—mostly because they're not crispy enough. Just a heads up that the drive-though at pretty much any location is absolutely mobbed, especially during lunch and dinner time, but the service is pretty efficient.
