The Katsu-Ya group has 5 locations in Southern California and growing. Our founder and executive chef Katsuya Uechi tied for #1 ranking for Top Food 2006 Zagat Los Angeles guide. In addition, chef Katsuya has KATSUYA by Starck restaurants with SBE Entertainment in Brentwood, Hollywood, Glendale, L.A. Live and Laguna Beach. There are plans to open more restaurants outside of Southern California. A cool celebrity hang out Hyde Lounge on Sunset Blvd's menu was also produced by no other than our chef Katsuya. With partnership with Mutual Trading Company, the premier Japanese food supplier opened Sushi Institute of American (SIA) in downtown Los Angeles to train future culinary and sushi chefs. We are committed to bring fresh quality foods to all our locations.

I’ve heard Vince Vaughn comes here a lot, and while I’ve never seen him whenever I come, I can understand why people like to frequent this spot. The sushi is great (definitely try the spicy tuna crispy rice or popcorn shrimp tempura) and it’s a great spot for either lunch or dinner. You are able to make reservations, but be on time because the restaurant is small, so they may give up your table if your party isn’t there on time. You can even sit at the bar and watch the sushi chefs prepare rolls as they are ordered.

For lunch they have a few combination meal specials, which is relatively inexpensive for Japanese & sushi. $14 for a Bento Box and you can then always order side sushi as well.
