One of the best sushi places in the valley. Affordable sushi, attentive staff, and options galore. When I used to live near this place, every time my family visited they asked to come here. They have a plethora of traditional rolls as well as some inventive ones (baked, interesting combos, etc) and some amazing appetizers as well (Garlic albacore, etc). If you're going for dinner, a reservation is a great idea since it is often packed. I haven't had a bad experience here and I've been about a half dozen times. It's not in a super convenient area, but it is a hidden gem in Sherman Oaks for sure.

Little Izakaya may just be one of the happiest places on this Earth. Unless it is 6pm and you have no reservation and you’re starving for a boat load of jumbo scallops, yellowtail, albacore, and uni. But, now that you have been warned that shouldn’t be a problem. This is a neighborhood spot that gets jam packed during peak hours. Fish here lives up to the Katsuya name in freshness and their prices aren’t terrible at all. There isn’t anything I wouldn’t recommend here to be honest. In fact - I strongly urge you to try it all. Lunch specials are quite good… The Chirashi bowl comes LOADED with tons of sashimi and you get your pick of uni or roe with it. If it’s Monday though…. Don’t get your hopes too high on getting uni though. Grrrr. Happy hour is really great too. A ton of small bites/sushi for under $6. Don’t quote me (mostly bec I’m too lazy to search the menu) but I believe a spicy tuna roll on HH is $3. Um, 10 orders please. My tips: Always look at their specials board, become friends with your sushi chef, be adventurous, and try everything. Enjoy!
